It's Someone's Special Day!

Happy birthday to our Samantha Lynn! How we have loved watching you grow from a darling baby to a precocious child and now a grown woman with children of her own. Have a joyous day and a wonderful year!

And the Winners Are...

Classic Taupe and Cottage White. Those are the new colors we chose for our "freshen up the bathroom" project. Jim painted the walls taupe and the cabinets, ceiling, and trim off-white, then I had him antique the cabinets with the same stain we used on the living room floor. We finished up the project with a new brushed nickel faucet, door/drawer pulls, towel bars, etc. and topped it off with a new light fixture. A new counter top and floor will have to wait for a new budget year, but until then we're really pleased with our more updated look.

Kids!

I work part-time at an elementary school as a computer keyboarding teacher for one hour and as a 504 assistant for about four hours each day. A 504 assistant works with a specific special needs student or students and also is an aide to the teacher. The class where I work is a multi-age group consisting of two teachers, sixty-seven 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, and me. We are the MAC class and you can't find a better group of kids anywhere. You can imagine that sometimes it is noisy (very noisy) and chaotic, but mostly things run smoothly and a lot of learning takes place. I have a great job!
